Popular horse trainer schedules clinics
Australian trainer Clinton Anderson will lead a Feb. 27-March 1 clinic at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake. (See story at right.)
The horseman from Down Under is coming over (and up) to Central Washington.
Australian Clinton Anderson, one of the world’s most recognized trainers of riders and horses, has pegged Moses Lake and Wenatchee as stops on his 2009 U.S. tour. So far, they’re Anderson’s only West Coast venues.

The Downunder Horsemanship 3-Day Clinic will be held Feb. 27-28 and March 1 in the Ardell Pavillion at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake. The Downunder tour comes to Appleatchee Riders in Wenatchee on Sept. 25-27. Anderson was last in Wenatchee in 2007.
Registration for each in-arena workshop — working face-to-face with Anderson — is limited to 20 riders and horses at a cost of $2,000 each. Tickets for clinic observers (no horses allowed) are $35 per day, prepaid, and $45 per day at the door.
The horsemanship clinics feature complete curriculums of Anderson’s popular DVD series, “Gaining Respect & Control on the Ground” and “Riding with Confidence.” The clinics’ live, step-by-step instruction to offer riders results that are tuned to individual horse’s abilities and personalities.
Anderson’s appearances in the area are part of a 10-city tour. Other dates may be added as the tour progresses, says the trainer’s web site.
Riders can register and buy tickets through Anderson’s web site, www.downunderhorsemanship.com, or by calling 1-888-287-7432.

It is super to have a horse-related magazine for our area in which we can find out about coming events like the Clinton Anderson clinic in Moses Lake in February. I was
fortunate to see him several years ago in Puyallup along with some other clinicians. I felt his information was the
most appropriate and a lot like what I have been teaching for about 54 years. We presents things in some different ways and it's really his presentation method I enjoyed. He
has a great sense of humor and will tell it like it is.
Thanks again for the info. I will spread it.
