BCHW Land Issues Meeting

Event details:

Back Country Horsemen of Washington will meet with land managers and representatives from Washington State agencies, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service to discuss trail and public land use issues. The meeting, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., precedes BCHW's board of directors meeting on Dec. 6.

Back Country Horsemen of Washington hold their quarterly board of directors meeting from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Discussion will include the previous day's land use meeting with state and federal officials and upcoming BCHW events.

New Year's Eve Buckin Blowout

Location: The Ardell Pavillion at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake, Wash.

Event details:

The Moses Lake Junior Rodeo Club will celebrate year's end with their fourth annual New Year's Eve rodeo. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the kids cowboy stick horse rodeo. Other kids events will feature the chicken scramble and balloon stomp. The adult rodeo kicks off at 7:30 p.m., and events will include bareback riding, saddle bronc, bull riding and businessmen's donkey roping. This is a non-alcoholic family event. Downunder Horsemanship Clinic

Location: Grant County Fairgrounds, 3953 Airway Drive, Moses Lake, Wash.

Event details:

Clinton Anderson, one of the world's top horsemen, arrives in Moses Lake to teach a three-day riding clinic. Curriculum covers his "Gaining Respect and Conrtrol Series" and "Riding with Confidence Series." Participation in the clinic for one rider with horse is $2,000, which includes stall fees. Enrollment is limited to 20 riders. Spectator tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Event details:

Back Country Horsemen of Washington invite all chapter members from across the state to attend the group's annual Legislative Day at the state capitol in Olympia, Wash. The day-long event is preceded by a reception at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Clarion Motel, located at 900 Capitol Way S. in Olympia.
